Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Kelp Creative Agency ("Kelp," "we," "us," or "our") operates www.kelp.agency. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we use it, and how you can contact us about your privacy. It covers our website and related inquiries, bookings, comments, and website checks.
Information you provide
- Website package inquiries: your name, email address, requested additions, and the package and included services associated with your request.
- Website checker requests: your name, work email address, website URL, and, when an automated check runs, its report ID and report URL.
- Meeting bookings: the contact information, meeting time, and any answers or details you provide through our HubSpot booking tool.
- Blog comments: your name, email address, comment, and the article you comment on. Comments are submitted to our WordPress system. Your display name and comment may appear publicly with a date and avatar; your email address is not displayed in the comment listing.
- Direct communications: information you choose to share when you email, call, or otherwise contact us.
Please avoid including passwords, payment card details, or sensitive personal information in forms, comments, or website checker requests.
Hosting and form submissions
Netlify hosts this website and processes our website package and website checker forms through Netlify Forms. Submitted fields are stored in our Netlify account so our team can review and respond to your request. Netlify also processes technical information, such as IP addresses and request information, to deliver the site, operate its services, and detect abuse. Our forms include a hidden spam detection field. See Netlify’s Privacy Statement for more about its practices.
Website checker information
When automated checks are available, your name, email address, and website URL are also sent through a Netlify function to our website checker backend. The checker scans public website pages and generates findings about links, search visibility, content, and other website features. The resulting report contains information derived from that public website.
The checker uses a cookie named kelp_website_checks to track
free-check usage. Our proxy also forwards your IP address to the checker
backend to help enforce usage limits and prevent abuse. We save your
request and report information so we can help you with the findings.
The report response excludes your submitted name and email address.
Treat your report link as private: anyone you give the link to may be able
to view the website findings. The report’s sharing button sends a request
to share the report with Kelp before opening meeting booking.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website and
improve its content and performance. It uses cookies, including
_ga cookies, and collects information about pages viewed,
interactions, referring sources, browser and device characteristics, and
approximate location. Google processes IP addresses to derive location
information; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.
You can read about Google Analytics data practices and Google’s Privacy Policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser and use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies may affect features such as website checker usage tracking or meeting booking.
Meeting booking and embedded content
Our scheduling tool is provided by HubSpot. When it loads or you book a meeting, HubSpot processes the information you submit and may collect technical information or use cookies to operate the booking experience. See HubSpot’s Privacy Policy.
Some pages include content or media delivered by other providers, such as WordPress.com image and video services, Gravatar comment avatars, YouTube, or Vimeo. When your browser requests that content, the provider receives technical information such as your IP address and browser information, and may use cookies according to its own privacy policy. Links to other websites take you to services governed by their own privacy policies.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries, discuss and provide requested services, schedule meetings, generate website reports, follow up on your requests and findings, and manage blog comments. We also use technical information to operate and improve the site, understand visitor activity, prevent spam and misuse, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Who receives information
Our team and service providers receive information needed for their roles. These include Netlify for hosting and forms, Google for analytics, HubSpot for scheduling, our WordPress and website checker systems, and providers that support our communications and website content. Public comments and report links you share can also make information available to others as described above.
We may disclose information when required by law or a valid legal request, or when necessary to protect our rights, visitors, or services.
Retention and security
Retention varies by record type and service. Form submissions, booking records, communications, and website reports may remain in the systems used to handle them. Public comments may remain with the associated article. Contact us to ask about a particular record or request its deletion; some information may need to be kept for legal obligations or ongoing services.
We use safeguards to protect information, but no website, transmission, or storage system can guarantee complete security. Our providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate, which may have different privacy laws from your location.
Your choices and requests
You can choose whether to submit forms, book a meeting, post a comment, or request a website check. Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses. To make a request, email info@kelp.agency. We may need to verify your identity before handling it. You may also have the right to raise a concern with your local privacy authority.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for businesses and people seeking creative services, rather than children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as our website or practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
